PATAGONIA

The Andes mountain range shows its beauty in the Patagonian provinces. Millennial silent forests with native vegetable species are extended along the shores of glistening waters. On top of the mountains, nature overflows with granite peaks and ice fields spreading their glacier tongues into lakes of unsurpassable beauty.

In the south, Tierra del Fuego and the World’s southernmost city, Ushuaia, is the gateway towards the vast and mysterious Antarctica.

NAHUEL HUAPI NATIONAL PARK AND SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE

Its glacial lake covers 560 square kilometers and its creeks reach into the forests of the National Park named after it. On its shore is San Carlos de Bariloche, a first-class tourist center, where the well-known Cerro Catedral winter resort and international ski center is, and which offers an active cultural life. Our school is located in the centre of Bariloche, gateway to the Argentinean Patagonia, in the heart of Argentina's oldest National Park.

You're assured of a good night’s rest, as well as spectacular views and great opportunities to explore the mountains, lakes and forests of the lake district of the Argentinean Patagonia. We are close to many important services, yet the quiet setting invites you to relax and explore the region on bike, by canoe or on foot. We can help you to organize your excursions and more extreme activities like rafting, climbing, paragliding or diving. You can also visit some of the pubs, restaurants or nightclubs downtown.

THE SCHOOL

Bariloche has about 120,000 inhabitants and is one of the safest places in Argentina. It is a stunning town, situated in the heart of the Lake District by the Andes in NW Patagonia. Cerro Catedral, the most important ski resort in South America, is close to the city and attracts an always increasing number of local and foreign tourists in winter. In summer Bariloche offers nearly every kind of adventure tourism, such as trekking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, etc. There are also many well known discotheques, restaurants and bars where you can enjoy yourself and taste our delicious chocolate and cakes. Bariloche can offer a big variety of events too, like theater plays, exhibitions and concerts. There are several interesting museums, and a big public library. And the town hall is the perfect space for open parties: concerts, parades, dances and other events.
Our school is located in a quiet spot in the very heart of the city, just a few meters away from the Tourist Information Office, the main city square, the town hall and the most important museums in Patagonia. Close to the school building there are also internet cafes, restaurants, pubs, and all the services you might need. While walking next to Nahuel Huapi Lake, students have plenty of time to communicate amongst themselves and often enjoy going out into the town to practice their language skills.
Our approach to teaching focuses on developing proficiency in the four basic communication skills (speaking, listening reading, and writing) and allows for emphasis on any one of these skills to meet each student's needs. Whether during one of the school activities or on their own, our students always find it easy to use the skills they have developed in the classroom while interacting with our friendly local people.

TOURS FROM BARILOCHE

There are also trips to El Bolsón and Lago Puelo National Park.

Seven Lakes Route: Departing from Bariloche, we can reach San Martín de los Andes and going along Route 234 amidst waterfalls and forests, we arrive at Villa La Angostura, located on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi.
